It looks like Daniel Orton could be on his way out. Sounds like what his dad was saying was true (well, maybe not the Cousins thing). Orton is apparently dropping his classes and heading out to California to prepare for the draft.
John Clay had this tweet:
RT @Chandrathan: @johnclayiv Daniel Orton just posted on FB he is indeed going to California tomorrow. Looks like he’s officially gone.
If true, this is a selfish move by Orton. Now, you might say that he held up his end of the deal by playing the season. Somewhat true. But, the scholarship is a yearly contract. The season started in the Fall semester, which was covered by the scholarship. The season ended in the Spring semester, which was also covered by the scholarship. The entire semester, not half. And by ditching now, Orton could cost UK a scholarship next semester. Selfish.
Now, I don’t blame Orton for leaving if he can be a first round pick. But he should finish out this semester in case things don’t go as planned. But he has already made it clear he’s in it for the money so I don’t expect him to withdraw his name once he enters it, agent or not.
